Public participation remains central to transparent and accountable decision-making. In keeping with this principle and in fulfilment of constitutional requirements, NYEWASCO held its final public consultation forum on Tuesday, 9th December 2025 at the Nyeri Culture Centre, bringing together customers and stakeholders from across its entire service area to engage on the proposed 2025/26–2029/30 tariff.
The forum was open to all customers and stakeholders and was designed to maximize accessibility and participation. In addition to physical attendance at the Nyeri Culture Centre, the session was broadcast live through NYEWASCO’s social media platforms, allowing wider participation and reinforcing the organization’s commitment to openness and transparency.
The Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB) was in attendance and played a key role as an independent moderator. WASREB facilitated the discussions and served as a neutral link between NYEWASCO and stakeholders, ensuring the engagement remained balanced, structured, and aligned with regulatory standards.

During the forum, NYEWASCO outlined the proposed tariff framework, reflected on key themes emerging from earlier consultations, and provided clarity on the considerations guiding the tariff review process. Participants were invited to share their views, ask questions, and provide final input, contributing to informed and constructive dialogue.
The forum recorded strong participation both in person and online, demonstrating sustained public interest and engagement. NYEWASCO expresses sincere appreciation to all customers and stakeholders who participated. The feedback received, together with views gathered throughout the consultation period, is being carefully documented and considered as part of the ongoing tariff review process.
Through this final public forum, NYEWASCO reaffirmed its dedication to inclusive engagement, transparency, and accountability, recognizing that sustainable service delivery is strengthened through continued dialogue and partnership with the communities it serves.
