On June 30, 2025, Nyeri Water and Sanitation Company (NYEWASCO) had the distinct honour of paying a courtesy call to H.E. Mwalimu Mutahi Kahiga, EGH, the Governor of Nyeri County. The visit marked a special moment as the company formally presented the five prestigious awards received in the WASREB IMPACT 17 Report 2025.
Governor Kahiga warmly congratulated the Board, management, and staff of NYEWASCO for their outstanding performance and leadership in the water sector. He commended the company for its unwavering dedication, innovation, and passion in delivering world-class water and sanitation services to the people of Nyeri County. His remarks highlighted the importance of strategic leadership, teamwork, and a strong commitment to public service.
The recognition was more than just an award presentation—it was a reaffirmation of NYEWASCO’s position as a national benchmark in water service delivery. Known for maintaining some of the lowest levels of non-revenue water in the country, the company continues to set standards through smart technologies, proactive maintenance, and customer-focused solutions.
The courtesy call also underscored the ongoing partnership between the County Government and NYEWASCO in advancing sustainable water services. Present during the meeting were Hon. Fredrick Kinyua, CECM for Water, Environment and Climate Change; CPA Gathogo, Chairperson of the NYEWASCO Board; Eng. Peter G. Kahuthu, Managing Director; and Mr. Paul Wambugu, Board Member. Their presence reflected the unity and shared vision that continues to drive NYEWASCO’s excellence.
