Today, we took an important step towards deepening community engagement and transparency at NYEWASCO. We successfully held public consultation forums on the proposed tariff for the 2025/26–2029/30 tariff period within our service area, giving our customers an opportunity to share their views and help shape a fair and sustainable tariff structure.

At Kamakwa Chief’s Camp, residents from Kamakwa, Gitathini, Ringroad, Kamuyu, Kihatha and Tetu convened to discuss the proposed tariff. The forum provided a platform for open dialogue, where community members highlighted their priorities, concerns and expectations regarding water service delivery and pricing. Their contributions reflected a strong desire for a tariff structure that supports both affordability for households and continued investment in critical water and sanitation infrastructure.

We also held a forum at Mweiga Chief’s Camp, engaging customers from Mweiga, Mwirori, Ikumari, Kimenju, Gikomo and Kiawara. Participants actively shared their perspectives on how NYEWASCO can continue to improve efficiency, reliability and customer service while maintaining a sustainable financial footing. The level of participation and the thoughtful feedback received underscored the community’s commitment to partnering with NYEWASCO in strengthening service delivery and supporting continuous improvement.

NYEWASCO deeply appreciates all residents who turned up and made their voices heard in these forums. Public participation is a key pillar in our decision-making processes, and your feedback remains vital as we refine the proposed tariff and work towards efficient, reliable and customer-focused water services. We remain committed to engaging our customers openly and transparently as we plan for the future of water and sanitation services in our service area.
