The contract signing ceremony, hosted by Managing Director Eng. Peter Kahuthu, marks the commencement of the highly anticipated sewer extension project covering the Kiamwathi, Ngangarithi, Ruring’u, Skuta, Misha, and Thunguma estates. This milestone represents a significant capital investment in Nyeri’s infrastructure, signaling a transition from strategic planning to active implementation.
The scope of the works has been strategically divided into two distinct segments to ensure efficiency and technical excellence. LOT I, awarded to Ispal Ventures Limited, focuses on the primary extension of the sewer network through the designated estates. Complementing this, LOT II was awarded to MOCA Contractors Company Ltd, whose mandate includes the specialized construction of a Sewer Pumping Station and the critical “last-mile” connectivity. This dual-lot approach ensures that the project not only builds the main arteries of the waste management system but also successfully links individual households and businesses to the network, making the benefits of the project immediately accessible to the community.
